Fair Named WBCA Region I Finalist for Coaches' All-America Team

3/27/2024 3:40:00 PM | Women's Basketball

Dyaisha Fair has been named a Region 1 Finalist for the WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team. If chosen, this would be the fourth All-American honor of the year for the Rochester, N.Y. native. She was named a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press, The Sporting News and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association last week.

Fair led the Orange to its 13th NCAA Tournament appearance this year and the team's first since 2021. She averaged 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game and scored in double figures in 31 of 32 games this season.

In the NCAA Tournament First Round against Arizona, Fair had 32 points, setting a program record for most points by a player in an NCAA Tournament game. With less than three minutes left in the contest, Fair went on an 11-0 solo run and scored the last 13 points in Syracuse comeback win to advance to the Second Round. Versus UConn in the Second Round, she led the team with 20, 18 of which were scored in the second half, en route to moving past Jackie Stiles (Missouri St, 1997-2001) and Kelsey Mitchell (Ohio State, 2014-18) to finish her career third all-time in Division I women's basketball scoring with 3,403 points.

The Orange, led by Fair, put together one of the best seasons in program history, tying program records for regular season wins (23) and conference wins (13). Fair was an All-ACC First Team selection for the second year in a row and became the fastest player in program history to score 1,000 points at Syracuse in just 50 games.
